Promising young key forward Cooper Trembath has signed a one-year contract extension, seeing him remain at North Melbourne until at least the end of the 2026 season.

Trembath joined the Kangaroos through the 2025 AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft with the 10th overall selection, after a strong start to the season with the club's VFL program under coach Tom Lynch.

The Eastern Ranges product was elevated to the senior side following an injury to star forward Nick Larkey and made an immediate impact, kicking three goals in each of his three games.

Known for his strong marking ability, Trembath's versatility allows him to play as both a key forward and key defender.

North Melbourne head of football talent Brady Rawlings praised Trembath's rapid development.

"He has shown immense growth since joining our VFL program at the start of the year and has worked hard to transition into the senior team,” Rawlings said.

“His ability to hit the scoreboard and compete at the highest level has been incredibly impressive."

"Cooper has plenty of improvement left in him, and with a full pre-season under his belt, we have no doubt he will become an important player for us in the future."
