Ruby Tripodi has signed a one-year contract extension that will see her remain a Kangaroo until at least the end of the 2027 AFLW season.

The extension adds to Tripodi’s current deal, originally set to expire at the end of 2026.

The 24-year-old midfielder has become a model of consistency and reliability for the club, playing in every match since Round 1 of the 2024 season.

Tripodi has played 36 games since joining the club as a Supplementary selection ahead of the 2023 season.

After working hard on her game in her debut season, Tripodi cemented herself as a vital member of the premiership-winning side in 2024.

This breakout year saw her recognised as one of the club's major improvers, finishing fifth in the 2024 North Melbourne Best and Fairest count. She was also awarded as the team's Best Young Player.

Her form and consistency have seamlessly carried into the 2025 season, where she continues to play a critical inside midfield role, stepping up particularly as key players have missed periods due to injury.

“We’re delighted to see Ruby has committed to us for an extra season, this extension is a great reward for the incredible work she has put into her game since arriving at the club,” North Melbourne general manager of women’s football Erin Lorenzini said.

“Ruby not only brings a fierce contest on the field, but she’s an extremely positive influence on the playing group off-field and one of several emerging young leaders.

“Her growth over the last few years has come as no surprise given her determination and attitude, but she also has plenty of improvement left in her and we look forward to watching her continue to grow as a player and person.”
