Creative mid-forward Hugo Mikunda is a Kangaroo after North Melbourne selected the Geelong Falcons prospect with pick No.48 in the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft.

Mikunda had to bide his time after the Roos tested the Gold Coast and Carlton with bids for academy prospects in the draft's third round.

A 181cm half-forward, Mikunda impressed with his incisive foot skills for the Falcons and Vic Country in his draft season.

Despite having had a limited pre-season due to stress fractures in his back, he was able to show off his speed, power and contest work in the Coates Talent League.

The Bell Park product was among the Falcons' best performers in the competition, averaging 17 disposals including a season-high 30 against eventual premiers the Eastern Ranges.

His senior debut at VFL level for Werribee underlined his credentials, as he tallied 15 disposals and seven score involvements.

Mikunda is the Kangaroos' final selection in this year's draft. He joins small forward Lachy Dovaston, selected at pick No.16 on Wednesday night, and Blake Thredgold, taken at pick No.26.
