Georgia Stubs will depart the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos after the club agreed to a trade with Richmond on day two of the 2025 AFLW Trade Period.

The Kangaroos will receive Richmond's 2026 fourth-round pick, while giving the Tigers a 2026 fourth-round pick along with Stubs.

The 20-year-old joined North Melbourne with the 30th overall pick in the 2023 AFLW Draft from the Eastern Ranges.

A dislocated ankle ahead of the 2024 season cruelly ended her first full season at Arden Street before it began.

Stubs recovered ahead of the 2025 season but was unable to break into North Melbourne’s strong premiership-winning side.

General manager of women's football Erin Lorenzini thanked Stubs for her time at club.

"We thank Georgia for everything she has given during her time as a Roo," Lorenzini said.

"She has worked extremely hard and been a positive influence on the team here at Arden Street, and we wish her all the best in her next chapter at the Tigers."

Roos trade draft picks with Blues

Later on Friday, the Kangaroos completed a pick swap with Carlton to secure the Blues' first-round and third-round selections in the 2026 AFLW Draft.

In exchange Carlton receives pick No.19 in this year's draft, and the Roos' 2026 second-round selection.

The Kangaroos currently hold picks 37, 55 and 73 in the 2025 Telstra AFLW Draft.
