The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos have added to their small forward stocks, selecting Shauna McElligott with pick No.49 in Monday night's 2025 Telstra AFLW Draft.
A 162cm goalsneak, McElligott is a creative player who can also play through the midfield or half-forward.
She played in all three roles while winning the best and fairest at under-18 level for the Calder Cannons in 2025.
Underlining her versatility, she also took out the Cannons' leading goalkicker award, kicking 12 goals, and made her senior debut for Aberfeldie, testing her body alongside experienced teammates including former AFLW Kangaroo Mo Hope.
“Shauna possesses great football fundamentals, is a composed decision-maker with ball in hand and as a crafty small forward, has demonstrated an ability to apply great tackle pressure,” North Melbourne AFLW list manager Flynn Loft said.
“She is a welcome addition to our list, and we’re looking forward to seeing her develop within our program.”
