Kristie-Lee Weston-Turner is finally a Kangaroo after the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos selected the young forward with pick No.37 in the 2025 Telstra AFLW Draft.
A former No.1 draft pick, the 20-year-old arrives at Arden St after her trade move from the Western Bulldogs fell through last week.
Weston-Turner had nominated North Melbourne as her preferred club, but had been left in limbo on trade deadline day when negotiations between the Bulldogs and Kangaroos ended in an impasse.
North Melbourne AFLW list manager Flynn Loft said Weston-Turner brings a wealth of talent and will be a valuable addition to the team.
“We’re excited to welcome a player of Kristie-Lee’s unique ability and immense potential into our program," Loft said.
“We saw in her junior career and in glimpses in her first two seasons that she is an athletic player with a genuine X-factor that can change a game.
“We believe that in a new environment at Arden Street she’ll be able to thrive and find her best footy.”
The Kangaroos added to their small forward stocks with their second pick in Monday night's draft, selecting Shauna McElligott at pick No.49.
Irish defender Sarah Wall joined her champion sister Vikki at Arden St with the Kangaroos' final draft selection, No.53 overall.
