North Melbourne has named its 26-man team to face Collingwood in Sunday's AAMI Community Series match in Ballarat.

The Kangaroos will take on the Pies in front of a sold-out crowd at Mars Stadium.

Skipper Nick Larkey will spearhead the Roos, with top draftee Lachy Dovaston lining up alongside him in the forward line.

Rising star Paul Curtis returns to the attack after missing last Friday's practice match against Melbourne at Casey Fields, while Cooper Trembath earns a chance to stake his Round 1 credentials, as does potential debutant Luke Urquhart.

Kangaroos fans will also be able to watch the club's newest recruit Tom Blamires in action. The defender was announced on Wednesday as a pre-season supplementary signing and will wear Jackson Archer's No.34 guernsey.

Colby McKercher (finger) is among several Kangaroos who will miss Sunday's game while being hopeful of a return for the season-opener against Port Adelaide.

Defenders Aidan Corr (calf) and Luke McDonald (wrist) are expected to be back to full fitness as soon as next week, while Riley Hardeman's return timeline is 2-3 weeks.

The match will begin at 3.10pm AEDT and broadcast exclusively on Kayo and Foxtel.
