The opposition
After coming close to knocking off Carlton in their first appearance of the season, the Tigers have had a difficult time since, losing their past four games by an average of 57 points.
Despite falling to Greater Western Sydney by 56 points in Gather Round, Richmond showed some positive signs, winning the inside-50 count by five and the clearance count by four.
While Adem Yze's young group has produced some quality football, the coach knows there’s work to be done. "We need to be really honest with where we are. [We are] not up to standard and [we've] got to get better," Yze said after Round 5.
Richmond will again be without ruck Toby Nankervis, while forward Tom Lynch remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

The rapid rise of Cooper Trembath has been a sight to behold.
From playing local footy for Blackburn to taking unforgettable hangers on the big stage, the Round 4 Rising Star nominee’s profile continues to grow.
His two goals against the Lions at Barossa Park takes his career total to 19 from just eight games, while his contested marking tally sits at nine for the 2026 season - ranked equal sixth in the League alongside the likes of Melbourne’s Max Gawn and Adelaide’s Riley Thilthorpe.
What the coach has said
North Melbourne senior coach Alastair Clarkson: "When you're playing against the reigning premier … you've just got to capitalise on your chances.
"We feel like we're making progress … when the whips needed to get cracking, we just fell a little bit short."
Last time we met
It was the Harry Sheezel show last time out against the Tigers, as North Melbourne’s No.3 equalled the all-time AFL disposal record in his side’s 48-point victory over Richmond in Tasmania.
Sheezel picked up 54 disposals, becoming the first player in the competition to surpass 50 touches in a game since Brisbane’s Lachie Neale achieved the feat in 2019.
Paul Curtis also starred in the 20.15 (135) to 13.9 (87) win with a career-high five goals, including a near-impossible snap from deep in the pocket.
