Singehebhuye shines

Huddle participant, Eangano Singehebhuye, has been recognised nationally for his outstanding leadership among the community.

Nominated for the 2019 Afroshine Australia Awards, ‘Community Leadership’ category by the Africa Media Australia (AMA), Singehebhuye has worked tirelessly in developing sport programs for his community in Brimbank.

Integral in the foundation of Acts of Random Kindness Victoria (ARC - VIC), the organisation has supported hundreds of kids and young women to participate in soccer programs and leagues.

The Huddle has seen first hand Singehebhuye’s leadership, when he participated in the intensive Kokoda trek in Papua New Guinea.

The group consisted of Victoria Police, Singehebhuye and seven other young people from the Huddle who were all were aged 19 to 22 from migrant and refugee backgrounds including Eritrea, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Tanzania.

The success of the group was contingent on team work and support, and Singehebhuye’s positive attitude and ability to connect with everyone, regardless of background or age, was admirable.

The Huddle would like to congratulate Singehebhuye and thank him for the amazing work he does.
