Tom Powell is set for a stint on the sidelines after sustaining a groin injury in the VFL over the weekend.
Powell, who returned via the reserves from a groin issue he originally suffered in Round 8 against Geelong, reaggravated the injury in Saturday's second half against Port Melbourne.
“We’ll use this week and the bye round for some medical interventions that will have Tom well placed for the second half of the season,” North Melbourne head of performance Kevin White said.
In better news for the Kangaroos, midfielder Luke Davies-Uniacke has been given a clean bill of health after he was helped from the ground in the closing seconds of Saturday's loss to Kuwarna (Adelaide).
Davies-Uniacke trained fully on Tuesday and is expected to be available for Saturday's home game against Gold Coast at Marvel Stadium.
Josh Goater (calf), Zac Fisher (hamstring), and Robert Hansen jnr (groin) are all on the verge of returning and will look to make it through Thursday’s main training session to be available for selection.
Zac Banch (hamstring) is tracking well, while River Stevens (knee) has also made progress on his road to recovery.
“Zac will look to have a strong week of footy conditioning over the bye week to then reintegrate into main program for a return post-break,” White said.
“River is now progressing his running and footy function.
“He’ll build out his intensity and loading next week and look to reintegrate with the main group after the bye.”
