North Melbourne Werribee has continued its undefeated start to the 2026 season, recording a 58-point belting over the Box Hill Hawks on Saturday.

Convincing all day, the Kangaroos won every quarter despite strong winds towards one end of the ground.

Zoe Savarirayan, who strayed from her usual defending role, was swung forward by new coach Alex McKenzie and had an immediate impact.

She finished with three goals, including one just before the final siren, and set up another in the second term.

Reigning best and fairest Maddie Di Cosmo was her usual superstar self, collecting 30 disposals to go along with seven tackles and a major.

Midfielder Alana Barba was superb in the middle, collecting 28 disposals and seven clearances, along with a goal in the last quarter.

The final score at Box Hill City Oval saw North Melbourne Werribee win 11.10 (76) to 2.6 (18).

Nike's return

Nyakoat Dojiok, the 2025 campaign's leading goal-kicker, returned for her first game of the season against the Hawks. 'Nike' booted two first half goals which was paired with nine disposals and five tackles.

Midfield mastery

North Melbourne Werribee's star-studded midfield dominated from the jump again, winning the inside-50 count 45-19, and the clearance count 34-22.

Jumping Jatczak

Young ruck Lauren Jatczak controlled the airspace, winning 39 hitouts against Box Hill which is her career-best return in that stat.
