North Melbourne midfielder George Wardlaw is set to miss the next 3-4 weeks due to a hamstring strain.
Wardlaw left the field late in the club's Round 17 clash with Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval and did not return after sustaining the injury during a sprint-and-bump contest.
“Scans revealed a strain there and with George’s history we’ll take a conservative approach to his return to play,” North Melbourne head of performance Kevin White said.
“He commenced running and light gym loading this morning (Tuesday) and will build his program out across this first week of rehab.”
Fellow onballer Luke Urquhart is expected to make his return to action, having overcome a knee injury that’s hampered his availability throughout the course of the 2026 campaign.
“Luke has put in a really strong month of loading and training and he’s feeling great physically with no knee symptoms reported,” White said.
“He’ll make his return to play across managed minutes through the VFL this Friday.”
The Kangaroos face Collingwood in the VFL in a 3.25pm curtain-raiser at Marvel Stadium on Friday, ahead of the AFL clash against the Magpies at Marvel on Friday night.
