North Melbourne is pleased to announce the appointment of David Koczkar to its Board of Directors.

The CEO of Australian health giant Medibank, Koczkar brings extensive executive leadership, governance and strategic and commercial expertise to the club.

Koczkar is a devoted North Melbourne supporter and member and regularly attends matches with his wife Prue, daughters Grace and Mimi, and his extended family.

He joins president Dr Sonja Hood AM, vice-president Nick Dowling, Andrew Harris, Andrew Swallow, Dr Harry Unglik, Selina Lightfoot, Rodney Piltz and Suzana Ristevski as club directors.

Dr Hood said Koczkar will bring a fresh perspective and passionate commitment to the club’s Board.

"David is an outstanding person whose track record in business, governance and people leadership will be a tremendous asset to our board,” Dr Hood said.

"Importantly, David also understands what North Melbourne means to its members and supporters. He has a lifelong connection to our club and understands who we are.”

Koczkar said he was honoured to join the Board of the club he has supported since childhood.

"North Melbourne has played an important role in my life since I was a young boy. I've always admired the club's values, resilience and connection with its members, its history and its community,” Koczkar said.

“I join the Board at an exciting time for our AFL and AFLW programs.

"I'm also excited by the opportunity to contribute to the club's future as we continue to strive for long-term growth and success.”

Koczkar starts as a casual Board appointee and will stand for formal election ahead of the club’s annual general meeting later this year.
