North Melbourne has locked in its side for its season-opener against Geelong at Marvel Stadium.

Second-year Kangaroo Claire Mahony has been named to make her AFLW debut, having spent her first season at Arden Street untried at the highest level.

Mahony, who has been impressing in defence throughout the pre-season, learned she would be debuting earlier on Thursday via her four-time premiership teammate Libby Birch. 

For the second-straight season, Jasmine Garner will lead the Kangaroos as captain as they hunt a third premiership in as many years. Garner will be flanked by vice-captain, Ash Riddell.

Fans can access both games in Saturday's Marvel Stadium double-header with a single ticket.

Saturday's AFLW Round 1 game is at 1pm, before the AFL team takes on Geelong in their Round 23 match at 3.45pm.

Members can access both games using their mobile membership via the NMFC app, or by using their barcoded membership card.

The AFLW Kangaroos will unfurl their 2025 premiership flag following their game.
