With just one round to go, Andrew Swallow’s lead in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year for North Melbourne is insurmountable.

As the only Kangaroo to poll in the 53-point loss to Fremantle on Sunday, his two votes take him to 64 and 10 clear of Brent Harvey.

Swallow collected 30 possessions (13 contested), 8 clearances, 6 free kicks and 13 tackles to poll for the 14th time this year. It's four games clear of Harvey, whose 54 votes have come from 10 games.

Swallow's consistency led Brad Scott to push him up for an All-Australian nod and looking at the stats, it's easy to see why.

An average of 26 disposals per game has Swallow sitting in the league’s top 20. He's also sixth in clearances at 6.8 per game, yet his greatest statistical achievement is leading the competition in tackles with 7.5.

The durability of Swallow is another feature and Saturday will mark his 88th consecutive outing since Round 1, 2009. He'll be rewarded with his first final in two weeks time if everything goes to plan.
