Melbourne Uni’s (MUWFC) premiership hopes were cut short on Sunday, falling to an impressive Southern Saints outfit by 17 points.

Leading by six points at the first change and eight at the main break, the Saints had momentum for much of the day, with a four-goal third term putting the game beyond doubt.

MUWFC managed to regain control in the final term, but inaccuracy in front of goal proved costly.

North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroo Ash Riddell played a pivotal role through the midfield, amassing 30 disposals, 1 goal, and 7 tackles.

Emma Kearney and Jenna Bruton were also standouts, with 22 and 21 disposals respectively.

While the season is now officially over, the players will no doubt be keen to come back bigger and better for the AFLW campaign and 2020 VFLW season.
