A Friday night clash in prime time against Collingwood is the scenario facing North this week.

As Andrew Swallow said on Tuesday, “If you didn’t want to embrace a challenge, you’d just quit. What better time to (turn it around) than Friday night under the spotlight.”

Midfielders

After being the game day emergency against Port, Trent Dumont is likely to be in consideration for selection.

Dumont’s first full game of his AFL career came against Collingwood last season, and he had 18 disposals and 10 tackles.

In the VFL, Declan Mountford has been impressive in recent weeks. His most recent game saw him play an effective tagging role on Geelong’s George Horlin-Smith. With Ben Jacobs still several weeks away from returning, Mountford may be a chance to come in if there’s an appropriate run-with role.

Defenders

Ed Vickers-Willis is arguably the next in line for a senior debut, and he did his case no harm with a solid performance against the Cats in the VFL.

Meanwhile Joel Tippett and Lachlan Hansen also held up well in their respective key defensive posts and considering Collingwood has multiple tall forwards, the duo will likely be a chance of making the 25-man squad.

Forwards

Majak Daw successfully completed his first full game since the bye in the VFL, playing in a variety of positions.

Although he spent most of the weekend’s game playing in the midfield for Werribee, he also played forward and in the ruck.

Robbie Nahas also had 18 disposals and a goal, with his forward pressure impressive when the ball was close to Werribee’s goal.
