The pair suffered injury scares against the Tigers, but Hawks' General Manager of Football Operations Mark Evans told the club's website he's confident they'll both take the field this week.
Shiels was handed the red vest at the final change after copping a knock.
“He (Shiels) copped a corky to the side of his leg. But he’ll be fine I would think," Evans said.
Young (knee soreness) was a strong performer against the Dockers a fortnight ago, and his availability will be important given the Hawks' reliance on outside run-and-carry.
“He (Young) just banged it (his knee) on the ground and I think there might have been another player that kneed him into the knee," Evans added.
“He’ll be okay. He had a light training session (on Monday), but trained pretty much fully (on Tuesday)."
Another player likely to be in the mix is Jack Gunston. The former Crow kicked seven goals in Round 9 for Box Hill.
“It’s great to see young players pushing back in, and hopefully he gets back in sooner rather than later."
