Along with five others, Delaney chose to travel to the team base a week early to get a jump start on the group.
"My brother Cam, Robbie Tarrant, Jack Ziebell, Cruize Garlett, Lindsay Thomas and I all came over last Monday," Delaney told kangaroos.com.au.
"For me it was purely because I didn't get the opportunity to come last year, so I really wanted to make sure I got everything out of coming this time."
Delaney says stories of last year's camp served as added inspiration.

"It was just about coming over nice and early as I know a few of the boys took at least a week to get used it (the altitude) and acclimatise last time.
"We all just spoke about it and I said I'd definitely go over at least four days early and we just decided a week would be good, so we just planned it out from there."
And there was little time for rest once they arrived.
"We haven't followed a program; we've just made it up as we went. We went for a few early runs - our first run was probably a bit over the top and we went up one of the steepest hills and got about ten-minutes up and all blew up.
"But we did a few good hikes and got some kilometres into the legs," Delaney said.
Speaking about his first experience with altitude training, Delaney says despite all the preparation, nothing quite compares.
"I think the hardest thing is the recovery. You do blow up earlier than normal, but your body doesn't allow you to drop your heart rate to recover quickly enough.
"I think we've got a little bit of an advantage on the other boys by coming a week earlier, but there are the fitness freaks that'll always be up the front.
"The actual accommodation here is unbelievable and from what I've heard from last year, it's going to be tough and even at the meeting last night, the coaches said it's going to be harder than ever so I'm preparing for a pretty solid month."
Luke Delaney had a breakthrough year in 2011 playing eight games before another shoulder injury took its toll. But now both he and his younger brother Cam are about to hit the gym once again.
"We both start weights today so we will be in the gym flat out."
