2013 looks to be the year for Will Sierakowski to finally make his AFL debut after a sensational outing with Werribee in the VFL.  Under lights at Avalon Airport Oval on Saturday night, the 22-year old  was unstoppable collecting 26 possessions, 10 marks and 3 goals playing on a wing.

"He played on Alan Didak, not all night, but it was a preferred matchup for us.  He's had a good game and hit the scoreboard while working very hard.  His positioning was really good on the wing," North development coach John Lamont told NMFC.com.au.

Sierakowski has been named as an emergency on several occasions over the last two seasons and is considered close to being selected, but is yet to force his way in to the Roos' 22. Lamont says this performance will put immense pressure on those currently in the side.

"It certainly is the sort of effort we're looking for, but without being in Hobart and seeing the others play, all I can say he's definitely in the mix.  It's his second year with us and that consistency is what we're looking for and he'll certainly give the match committee some headaches if he keeps it up."

Ayden Kennedy also had a good game in the 8-point win over the Magpies, gathering plenty of the footy. He finished with 28 disposals
but will need to string together some consistent performances before being considered for AFL action.

"He's played a solid game, but we expect and need more from him with his defensive efforts."

Levi Greenwood was used in a familiar role; he tagged Collingwood midfielder Kyle Martin out of the game while amassing 17 touches for himself while Jordan Gysberts showed some good signs with 18.

"Levi stuck to his task well and kept Martin to about 10 possessions. Gysberts had a slow start but then became more consistent with his efforts in the second half and had more influence.  I thought he took a good step forward and it was pleasing to see a bit more grunt from him."

After a quiet outing last week, Daniel Currie returned to form going up in the ruck against 208 centimetre giant Jarrod Witts while Mason Wood impressed again with 14 possessions, 6 marks and 2 goals.

Majak Daw made a hasty trip back from Hobart after being an unactivated emergency and managed to kick a goal.

"I was really pleased with Majak's game.  It wasn't the ideal preparation having to fly back, then drive all the way to Werribee from the airport. He took four marks in the first quarter and had 11 for the night.  He also had three shots on goal in a solid effort and handled the circumstances well."

North rookie Tim McGenniss had 13 disposals but was effective with many of them and Luke McDonald had 10.

Liston medal fancy and Roo development coach Jarred Moore was predictably named in the best players after a 30 possession outing.

"He's been a great appointment for us and is working in really well at Werribee with Scott West and the midfield group."
