Ben Warren has worked tirelessly in the VFL to prove himself worthy of senior selection with Sunday’s match against Geelong one of his finest yet.

Pulling on the number 63 Werribee guernsey for the eighth time this season, Warren was a clear stand-out kicking six goals and winning the Damien Drum Medal for best-on-ground.

The hard-working forward's recent good form is sure to bring him into the mix for the all-important clash against the Bombers this Saturday.

Werribee senior coach Paul Satterley wasn’t surprised by Warren’s goal kicking feat.

“Ben works that hard every week but I think this week he really received good reward for effort. He’s a tireless worker and continues to hit up and present. He took three big contested marks and kicked six for us today," Satterley told kangaroos.com.au.

”For him to go out and play that game was a real credit to him. We’re really pleased for Ben because he always works so hard.”

Below are Paul Satterley’s comments on all of North Melbourne’s players who represented Werribee in its 11-point win:

Gavin Urquhart - 24 possessions, eight marks
"Today was Gavin Urquhart’s best performance for us by a mile, he got quite a bit of confidence out of last week’s game. He used the depth of his kick really effectively and played his best game of the year so hopefully he’s back on track."

Sam Wright - 27 possessions, three goals
"Sam Wright will be back to senior footy soon. He won some inside footy and some outside footy and I’m sure he’ll have his name back up in lights after today’s performance."

Robbie Tarrant - 21 possessions
"Robbie was huge for us down back playing on (Tom) Hawkins and (Cameron) Mooney. He took some big contested marks and had 21 touches. As a key defender his spoils and his physicality were really important for us and he played a key role for us."

Ben McKinley - 10 possessions, four marks
“Ben McKinley lead from the front in our forward line, he set everything up really well. He didn’t get on the scoreboard today but no doubt the role he played meant that others like Ben Warren could kick goals and it was very much a team-orientated performance. We’re very pleased with him.”

Kieran Harper - 13 possessions, one goal
“Kieran has incredible pace and athleticism as well as an amazing leap which are awesome weapons as a footballer. Harps kicked two goals which was a nice way to finish a good game for him.”

Matthew Scott - 16 possessions, five clearances
“Matthew Scott got back into some impressive form and can take some confidence from today’s game. He got a lot of the footy and was back after a couple of quieter weeks.”

Ben Ross - 23 possessions
”Ben Ross got the rewards of someone who is feeling much better in his body and his preparation. He was really good for us today with 23 possessions.”
