The transformation of Arden Street oval began in earnest today as demolition of the Grandstand got underway to make way for the new facility.The dilapidated stand will take a matter of days to remove completely, with any hazardous materials being removed first, followed by the structural demolition.The removal of the grandstand is bittersweet for Kangaroos supporters, as it represents the dawn of a new era at Arden Street.While the grandstand holds many fond memories, it had become unsafe in recent years to make way for the new development taking place on the site.The development will house the Kangaroos and significant facilities for use by the local community.Historical artifacts will be featured in the new facility at Arden Street when completed.
