NORTH Melbourne ruckman Hamish McIntosh looks to have escaped serious injury after he was taken from the field following a knock to his right knee against the Western Bulldogs.
Coach Brad Scott says he may only miss one week.
With the Roos trailing by 20 points late in the third term at Etihad Stadium, McIntosh leapt for a mark and his right knee made solid contact with the lower back of Dogs defender Ryan Hargrave.
McIntosh clutched at his knee immediately and writhed in agony before hobbling off the ground in the hands of trainers.
He tested his range of movement along the boundary line before returning to the bench for further assessment and treatment.
However North Melbourne coach Brad Scott said that McIntosh had merely aggravated an old PCL injury and had suffered no structural damage.
"We think he'll be fine," Scott said.
"You would have to say he is doubtful for this week. It's an old injury, not a new one."
McIntosh had his PCL removed in 2008 and then missed much of 2011 with an Achilles injury.
However his latest injury is an impact injury and the ruckman is expected to make a speedy recovery.
McIntosh was subbed off at the last break.
