There has never been any doubt about the talent of young ruckman Todd Goldstein, but his real test could come on Sunday against the Swans after being named in the North Melbourne squad.

The selection may well be considered a belated birthday present for Goldstein who turned 21 yesterday, and it’s no doubt a gift he’ll gladly accept.

Already boasting a strong ruck contingent North will use Goldstein to provide back-up to Hamish McIntosh which will allow Drew Petrie and David Hale to roam around the SCG.

It won't be easy for the former national level basketballer though, in-form Sydney ruckmen Darren Jolly awaits Goldstein and the big Swan is second in the league for hit-outs.

After playing in the second round against the Bulldogs, Port Adelaide and Geelong, Goldstein has since spent time in the VFL and last week’s effort certainly caught Crocker’s eye. Goldstein amassed an impressive 41 hit-outs and three goals in Werribee's win over Box Hill.

While Goldstein will be raring to go, it's a different story for Ben Warren who looks set to miss up to ten weeks with a broken leg.

Liam Anthony has been named to play his second AFL game while Josh Smith finds himself on an extended bench. Corey Jones and Daniel Harris look to be back in favor at the club with Brent Harvey hoping to build on his promising comeback match in which he netted 28 possessions.
