VOICE YOUR VOICE

Do you have ideas about how to help other young people? Do you want to make a difference but don't know how to do it or who to talk to about it?

REGISTER AT: https://voiceyourvoice.eventbrite.com.au

Voice Your Voice is an initiative designed to help young people grow their ideas and turn them into projects that matter to our community.

The Huddle together with the City of Melbourne, Vic Health and the Foundation for Young Australians is running workshops over three Saturdays for 30 young people aged between 15 to 25 years.

Voice Your Voice has been designed to allow young people to develop their ideas and pitch them to local politicians, philanthropists and community leaders to turn their idea into reality. One project will be selected to make a short film.

If you register you must be able to attend all three workshops at The Huddle in North Melbourne:

  1. Workshop: Idea Generation - Saturday 26th August from 9.30am to 2.30pm
  2. Workshop: Pitching Ideas - Saturday 2nd September from 9.30am to 2.30pm
  3. Workshop: Refining the Ideas - Saturday 28th October from 10.00am to 2.00pm

Workshop Details:

Workshop 1: Idea generation (26th August, from 9.30am to 2.30pm) will focus on exploring our community so that participants can identify issues that they want to address and/or promote in response to the topics of resilience, mental wellbeing and social inclusion. At the end of this workshop participants will have an idea that they can take to their community and get feedback on.

Workshop 2: Pitching ideas (2nd September, 9.30am to 2.30pm) will focus on participants utilising the feedback they received from their community to develop a prototype idea to address the issues they have identified. A range of community leaders will attend after lunch to engage in a conversation with participants about how to implement their idea, before participants pitch their finished idea to the broader community at the end the session. At the end of this workshop participants will work with community leaders to implement their ideas.

Workshop 3: Refining the Ideas (28th October from 10am to 2pm) will provide participants with an opportunity to share progress on their idea and work through any challenges they are experiencing. Participants will also be supported to prepare for the application to have a short film made of their project. At the end of this workshop participants will have the opportunity to present back how they have refined their idea and why a film should be made about their project.
