32-year-old ruckman Todd Goldstein isn’t showing any signs of slowing down, putting together one of the best individual seasons of his decorated career.

Goldstein was dominant in the ruck around the ground for North Melbourne, recording the fourth-most hit-outs, and 12th-most clearances in the AFL.

The big man notched up his 250th career game in Round 17, and has now played the 11th most game for the Roos.

His outstanding form and consistency will see him challenge for a second Syd Barker Medal next week.

By the numbers

Despite the shortened quarters, Goldstein’s numbers were right up there with the best in his career to date.

His 14.9 disposals per game have only been bettered once (2019), while his 5.2 clearances were a career-best.

Goldstein’s total of 88 clearances was the 12th-most in the competition, with he and Nic Naitanui being the only two ruckmen inside the top 40.

His 59 stoppage clearances placed him fifth in the league, only sitting behind Clayton Oliver, Jarryd Lyons, Lachie Neale and Jack Steele.

The big moment

Goldstein was immense in the Round 2 win over GWS.

The number 22 tallied 19 disposals, 51 hit-outs and a goal in a performance that earned him three Brownlow votes.
