Daisy Bateman’s impressive Round 6 performance, which included 14 disposals and two goals, has yielded a Rising Star nomination.

The 21-year-old has booted five goals from her six games this season, with four of those coming in the last two games.

Bateman was drafted to the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos in 2018, at pick 25.

North AFLW coach, Darren Crocker, said the nomination is recognition for her hard work.

“Daisy worked extremely hard over the pre-season and is always looking at ways to get better. It’s starting to pay off,” Crocker said.

“Daisy’s really embracing her role for the team and is an important part of our squad with her smarts, ability to mark for her size and convert in front of goal.

“We’re really proud of Daisy and congratulate her on her nomination.”
