He says those who choose to sit back and wait run the risk of missing out on getting a seat at Etihad Stadium on Saturday April 2, with long lines expected at the club’s membership marquees.
"I just urge all Kangaroos supporters not to wait until the Collingwood game and line up ten deep outside the marquees to get their membership cards. Get on early, make sure you don't miss out and you don't miss the game against the Pies which is our first home game,” Arocca said on 1116 SEN radio with Daniel Harford on Wednesday.
"The one thing that strikes me about the Kangaroos' members is there doesn't seem to be a sense of urgency…at the moment we are tracking to hit over 30,000 which is fantastic given that three years ago we were sort of locked on 22 or 23 thousand.”
The CEO also threw out a challenge to the club’s supporters not to be outnumbered by the opposition.
"It's not going to be a ticketed game, we've spoken to Etihad about that. Collingwood are bigger than they've ever been at the moment. We would hate to be in a stadium that's our home game and be outnumbered by them. It's important that the members sign up and make sure they get access to the game.
"Kangaroos supporters seem to wait until the first game and casually rock up to the marquee and get their membership card. There'll be a sense of urgency I would have thought and it's important that they do sign up earlier than that, get their card and just walk through the gate.”
Arocca says there’ll be plenty of surprises in store for supporters at the blockbuster game.
"Kangaroos pride ourselves a little bit on innovation. In the Collingwood game we are planning on unveiling something pretty innovative again. We urge North Melbourne supporters to sign up and we want them to be a part of what will be an interesting initiative based around the clash of the stripes.
"We're wearing our normal strip. Ed (Eddie McGuire), maybe enthused by their premiership win, has agreed to modify their stripes so that they've got a wider patch of black, and we wear our traditional blue and white strip. If that isn't a reason to get North Melbourne supporters to fire up then I'll go boo.
"We do urge Kangaroo supporters that we think at a club level we've changed our mindset. We talk about high performance and elite culture and a great coach and a good young team. It's probably time for the Kangaroos members and supporters to start saying 'well you know what, I won't wait till round three to sign up, I'm doing it now'.
"The real challenge for us is to grow new supporter bases, but we are just ahead of last year. We need to get to 30,000 quicker rather than later.”
Arocca was also quick to remind the club’s loyal fans that history is on their side."In 2011 we think that we're on the cusp of something special.
"The Kangaroos' have had a history of missing every second decade, and we haven't covered ourselves in glory in the 2000's.
"We think this next decade represents a real opportunity to fire up. With the youth that's coming in, even our older players seem to be absolutely excited about what's ahead, we thought 'Ignite' was the best way to express where we were. If you watch the last quarter of the game against the Doggies on the weekend in North Ballarat they certainly fired up."
