The third father/son selection on North Melbourne’s list, Jackson Archer joins new teammates Luke McDonald and Bailey Scott in being tasked with continuing his family’s legacy at Arden Street.

Like his Shinboner of the Century father Glenn, Archer possesses a rare fearlessness in his game, attacking every contest with assertiveness and power regardless of the size of the opponent.

A half-back flanker by trade, he’s an intelligent ball-user and efficient kick when moving the ball out of the back half, while his 183cm frame coupled with agility allows him to play on both mid-sized and small opposition forwards.

Archer has gained a small level of senior experience, representing North’s VFL side in a pre-season clash, as well as playing Southport in Round 5 of the VFL where he finished with 8 disposals and 7 marks.

Taken with pick 59, Archer is a raw prospect, but his strong mental attributes will hold him in good stead for a 2022 campaign full of improvement.
