North Melbourne young gun Bella Eddey has signed a one-year contract extension, which will see her remain at the club until at least the end of the 2026 season.
The 23-year-old solidified her position as a core member of the squad and a future leader of the Kangaroos, having been re-elected as the youngest member of the leadership group ahead of the 2025 campaign.
Eddey was taken with Pick No.13 from the Sandringham Dragons in the 2020 AFLW Draft and made an immediate impact, playing in Round 1 of her first season.
She had a career-best season in 2024, kicking 10 goals as North Melbourne claimed its first premiership.
Off the field, Eddey has shown outstanding character and community commitment, becoming a finalist for the prestigious 2024 Jim Stynes Community Leadership Award, with the nod acknowledging her work as an ambassador with the Royal Children's Hospital.
North Melbourne general manager of women’s football Erin Lorenzini said the club was thrilled to have Eddey commit for another year.
“Bella is a high-IQ player and one of our elite young talents, she’s an incredibly valued member of our team,” Lorenzini said.
"To be elected into the leadership group at her age is a testament to her character and the respect she has from her teammates.
“We love what Bella brings to our playing group, while she continues to show great growth both on and off the field."
