North Melbourne defender Adam Tomlinson has been named in the 40-man VFL Team of the Year squad for 2025.
This year was Tomlinson's first as a Roo and he played an important role in defence after crossing over from Melbourne prior to the season, averaging 22.2 disposals, 6.9 rebound 50s and 6.6 marks per game.
The full list of club representation was: Box Hill Hawks (four), Brisbane Lions (two), Carlton (two, including Liam McMahon), Casey Demons (three), Coburg (five), Collingwood (two), Essendon (two, including Liam McMahon), Footscray Bulldogs (three), Frankston (five), Geelong Cats (one), GWS GIANTS (one), North Melbourne (one), Port Melbourne (one), Richmond (one), Southport Sharks (three), Werribee (three) and Williamstown (two). Gold Coast Suns, Northern Bullants, Sandringham and Sydney Swans did not have a representative selected.
The final team of 24 players will be named on Monday, September 15 at the 2025 VFL and VFLW Awards. A captain and coach will also be selected.
Players must have played a minimum of 12 home and away matches this season to be considered for selection in the 2025 Smithy's VFL Team of the Year.
