Young gun Finn O'Sullivan will miss at least another match, while speedy winger Robert Hansen jnr has been sidelined with a groin complaint.

O'Sullivan underwent surgery on his jaw last week after fracturing it in the Good Friday SuperClash win over Carlton.

"Finn was in a period of recovery post-surgery during the middle of last week before having a run again over the weekend," North Melbourne head of performance Kevin White said.

"He'll fully train in a non-contact capacity this week which will enable him to maintain his sharpness of skills, connection with teammates and he’ll have extra conditioning to keep his fitness levels high.

"Robbie had an incident in a marking contest where he had adductor soreness at the end of Tuesday's training last week.

"Although he's been progressing well over the past 48 hours, we'll look to manage him this week."

Fellow young Roos Josh Goater (quad), Riley Hardeman (ankle) and Luke Urquhart (knee) will all face fitness tests ahead of this weekend.

Goater completed a high-quality, game-loading session on Saturday in the Barossa and could play his first competitive minutes of the season if given the green light.

"Josh's kicking load and volume has steadily increased and he's recovering well and feeling confident," White said.

"Riley is making steady progress with that ankle injury and will re-load on Tuesday. We'll assess his recovery off this session to gauge his ability.

"Luke had significant improvement over the weekend with a quality football conditioning session at Arden Street. 

"He'll have another session today (Tuesday) to then pass through into group training later in the week to prove his fitness for game availability."
