Midfielder George Wardlaw is ready to go ahead of North Melbourne’s Thursday night bout with the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.

A hamstring strain sustained against Port Adelaide in Round 17 has kept Wardlaw out of the side for the past month, but the young gun is now available for selection.

"George has put in a stellar block of strength and conditioning to put himself in a strong position to attack the final three games of the season," North Melbourne head of performance Kevin White said.

Luke McDonald (calf) and Callum Coleman-Jones (ankle) are a week away from making their comebacks to action as the Kangaroos prepare to face the Bulldogs after only a five-day break, while illness is impacting Jacob Konstanty's availability.

"Luke will be aiming for a return to play next week after not quite being at the level to tick off end-stage markers this week on the short turnaround," White said.

"Callum’s progress has been delayed with illness over the past few days which has set back his ability to return to play.

"Jacob has also been (sidelined) for a period due to illness, but has since returned to the club in good spirits.

"He will have a slow reloading of running and gym this week to assess his response."
