Melbourne Uni fought hard in trying conditions, but ultimately fell short by ten points in Saturday night’s clash against the Western Bulldogs at Whitten Oval.

Hard rain and cold temperatures meant ball movement was critical in the 22-12 loss.

North AFLW listed players Ash Riddell and Kate Gillespie-Jones did their part to lift the team with the former's skills in the midfield a standout.

Riddell's speed and endurance saw her collect 34 disposals, 6 marks, 9 tackles, and 7 clearances.

Gillespie-Jones also made her presence felt with 31 disposals, 5 inside 50s, 8 tackles, and 4 clearances.

Both visiting Tasmanian draft prospects, Abbey Green and Meg Sinclair, put in strong performances.

Green rotated through the ruck and full-forward, while Sinclair played most of the game at half-back and proved critical locking down some of the Dogs' key attacking threats.

A strong presence in the midfield, AFLW-listed Jess Trend fought hard with 18 disposals and 8 tackles.
