WHEN asked to pick the best player in North Ballarat's 87-point win over Frankston, North Melbourne development coach Jason Lappin said he "would find it hard to pick between Pratt, Anthony and Mullett".
Although Frankston sits at the bottom of the VFL ladder, the Kangaroos' aligned players couldn't afford to be complacent with just a few weeks left to impress Brad Scott and earn a spot in the senior side.
Daniel Pratt's outstanding performance couldn't have come at a better time and the veteran defender amassed 30 possessions, 10 marks, six inside 50s and two goals.
Having not played since round 15 against St Kilda, Pratt will be hoping to force his way back in for the side's must win clash against Fremantle on Saturday night.
Liam Anthony's effort was also a timely one and the midfielder collected 34 possessions, 13 marks and two goals at Eureka Stadium.
Just as impressive was rookie Aaron Mullett, who should get a chance to make his debut before the season ends. The skilful left-footer finished the day with 28 touches, four tackles, three spoils, nine marks and eight one-percenters.
Highly rated youngster Shaun Atley wasn't afforded the week off after playing against Hawthorn and had a solid 20 disposal game which included six clearances and nine tackles while Marcus White also had 20 touches to go along with four inside 50s and three tackles.
The Delaney brothers worked tirelessly in defence throughout the afternoon. Younger sibling Cameron had 14 possessions and four spoils with Luke picking up 13 touches and four spoils.
At the other end of the ground Aaron Black kicked 2.2 from 12 possessions. Brayden Norris sustained a heavy knock early in the game and had a relatively quiet day as a result with 11 disposals and four tackles.
In the reserves, developing ruckman Ben Mabon had 14 possessions, 15 hit-outs, four clearances and a goal.
