At the end of the season the top moment of 2012, as voted by the supporters, will be played at the Syd Barker Medal.
1. Brent Harvey - Run and Goal
Picking up the ball just on the defensive side of the centre, Harvey takes off. After a bounce he delivers a short pass to Petrie just outside the attacking 50. Boomer keeps running for the handball receive and hits Ryan Bastinac on the chest 25 metres out from goal with another precision pass. Harvey's not done yet, he continues his long run to receive another handball from Bastinac before slamming through the goal.
2. Todd Goldstein - Goal
Sam Wright receives the ball on the wing and kicks it towards Goldstein. The ball goes over the back of the pack into space and the big ruckman is first on the scene. He gathers it tight on the boundary line on the wrong side for a left footer. Under extreme pressure, he calmly slots a drop punt straight through the middle.
3. Hamish McIntosh - Goal
North enters its forward 50 on the tougher side of the ground to kick goals from due to the wind. Petrie picks up the contested ball and handballs to Campbell. Forced onto his wrong side, Campbell handballs to the running McIntosh. From 40 out, McIntosh kicks a drop punt that changes shape into a torpedo as it wobbles through.
4. Aaron Edwards - Five goal haul
Causing havoc for the Giants' defenders, Edwards was unstoppable all day. Whether it was through contested marking or clever play, Edwards ended just one goal short of his career high.
5. Jamie Macmillan - Amazing goal
It's taken YouTube by storm with over 30,000 views and makes another appearance in our Plays of the Week. With Aaron Mullett as his accomplice, Macmillan enters his audition to become the next striker for the Socceroos with a spectacular volley from 25 metres out on the boundary line.
