Cunnington was just one away from setting a career-high in contested possessions; his 19 against the Power has only been bettered on two occasions – one of them coincidentally also against Port last season.
The number 10 also laid 7 tackles and was a big part of the North pressure that Hinkley said his team struggled with when the game was in the balance.

Alongside Cunnington in the packs was Levi Greenwood and the left footer polled seven votes for his game. In his first full outing for 2014, Greenwood led all players in disposals, collecting 34 to go with 11 marks, 6 clearances, 7 tackles and 6 inside 50’s.
Brent Harvey continued his stellar early-season form to move into the top 10 in the award. A further four votes backed up his nine against the Bulldogs in Round 2.
Ryan Bastinac bounced back from a quiet fortnight to start 2014 with 26 possessions. He played a big part late in the game, winning a contested ball that led to Ben Jacobs’ long-range goal.
Rounding out the votes for North was Sam Gibson. Playing his typically hard-running game, Gibson racked up the possessions with 33 for the evening. It makes two consecutive weeks he’s passed the 30 disposal barrier.
