Will Sierakowski has come close to a debut on several occasions, but after another outstanding performance the 22-year old is more determined than ever to represent the royal blue and white.

Named as an emergency regularly throughout 2012, Sierakowski’s form is becoming hard to ignore for Brad Scott and the selectors.

“I guess frustrations come along with that (being named emergency), which everyone who’s had an emergency role would understand, but at least they give you the hint that you’re close,” the left-footer told NMFC.com.au.

“It gives you encouragement to play well on the weekend, so hopefully my opportunity comes, but to be named in the 26 at least shows that I’m close.”

Sierakowski had 26 possessions, took 10 marks and kicked 3 goals for Werribee on Saturday night, drawing praise from North development coach John Lamont, who said the number 28 will ‘give the match committee some headaches’.

“Having JL (Lamont) and Jarred Moore down there supporting you always helps at Werribee,” he added.

“If you play well they can come back to the match committee saying such things and for him to say that is a nice positive for me.”

Aiming to impress and ready to do whatever it takes to earn a call-up, Sierakowski is working harder than ever to improve his game and earn a spot in the side.

“Consistency of impact on games (is what I’m working on)... consistently having the impact that a wingman needs to have to actually impact an AFL game is the main thing.”
