A lackluster performance against Greater Western Sydney and the availability of some star Roos coming back from injury means changes will be made ahead of the club’s final with West Coast.
kangaroos.com.au looks at the players most likely to be considered for a trip to Perth.
Wells, Grima and Wright
Provided the trio gets through training, selection will be guaranteed. Daniel Wells (calf), Nathan Grima (hamstring tendonitis) and Sam Wright (rested) are all considered a part of North’s best 22 and will be welcomed back into the fold with open arms.
Cam Pedersen
He’s missed the last two weeks with an ankle injury, but Pedersen could be used to counter the Eagles’ height advantage in several key positions around the ground, including the ruck. North’s defence in particular was stretched to the limit last time the sides met in Hobart, when Dean Cox went forward and kicked the game-winning goal.
Cam Delaney
An emergency last week, Delaney’s height in defence could come in handy, just like Pedersen.
Levi Greenwood
Missing in action last week with a sore foot, Greenwood’s ability to lock down on opposition players always makes him a tantalising prospect. However Brad Scott’s game-plan in 2012 hasn’t required a tagger as such. In Round 15, Matthew Priddis had 34 disposals and Daniel Kerr collected 31, meaning Scott could spring a tagging-surprise on the Eagles with the inclusion of Greenwood.
Black, Edwards, McKinley, Warren
All forwards with proven goal-kicking ability, any member of this foursome could be considered if Lachlan Hansen (knock to head) isn’t cleared to play.
