Generational Roos
Past North Melbourne players and their kids
- The Generational Roos is an engagement program for past North Melbourne players and their kids.
- Kids who are part of the Generation Roos, when age eligible, will be invited to join the Junior, Rising or Emerging programs.
- The Generational Roos program will focus on connecting North Melbourne’s past with its future.
Junior Roos supported by Werribee Football Club
Under 13s
- The Junior Roos is an entry-level program for kids under the age of 13, focusing on engagement and skill development.
- The program is delivered in collaboration with the Werribee Football Club.
- There are monthly training sessions between April and September, with a mini match during the September school holidays.
Rising Roos
Aged 14-16
- Rising Roos is progression from the Junior Roos program with a continued focus on technical & tactical development.
- Participants will also be introduced to the concept of physical development.
- There are monthly training sessions between April and September, with matches during the April & September school holidays.
Emerging Roos
Aged 16-19
- Emerging Roos is a more targeted high-performance program where participants receive valuable coaching in areas of technical, tactical & physical development.
- There are two-day training camps during the July & September school holidays.
Elite Roos
Aged 16-19
- The Elite Roos is a bespoke program individually designed to prepare athletes for performance at the elite level.
- Involvement includes exclusive camps with AFL & AFLW programs during school holiday periods, with further VFL & VFLW exposure throughout the year.
Male players will be automatically eligible if:
- They are Next Generation Academy or father-son (father must have played 100+ games) eligible; and
- Involved at Coates League, TSL, VFL, SANFL or WAFL level (U16+); or
- Included in State Academy programs (U16+)
Female players will be automatically eligible if:
- They are Next Generation Academy (Tasmanian) or father-daughter eligible (father must have played 1+ game); and
- Involved at Coates League, VFLW, SANFLW, WAFLW or QAFLW level (U16+); or
- Included in State Academy programs (U16+)
