North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroo Emma Kearney will continue her decorated career after signing a two-year contract extension with the club.
After six seasons at Arden Street, Kearney will run out in the royal blue and white until at least the end of 2025.
The 34-year-old joined the club in 2019 and was named captain of the Kangaroos' inaugural AFLW side prior to their entry into the competition.
In 2023, the veteran was awarded All-Australian honours for an eighth time after averaging 20 disposals per game off half-back. Kearney was ranked fourth in the competition for intercept possessions and sixth for rebound 50s.
Among many individual accolades across her career, Kearney is the only player in AFLW history to receive All-Australian honours in every season of the competition's existence.
There is no doubt Kearney will go down as one of the greats of the game and etch her name into the club’s history books.
"From the moment Kearns walked through the doors in 2019, our club has been better for it," North Melbourne's head of women's football Nathan Hrovat said.
"From the very beginning, she has been a key driver of getting our AFLW program to where it is today.
"Drive, focus and ferocity are synonymous with the Kearney name. Kearns has always led from the front. She will do whatever it takes to achieve the ultimate team success.
"We are thrilled to have a person of her calibre locked in for another two years."
Kearney's signature caps a raft of key Kangaroo signings ahead of the AFLW trade and draft periods, including midfield stars Jas Garner, Ash Riddell and Mia King.
