North Melbourne will honour dual premiership coach Denis Pagan across its home games at Marvel Stadium in 2024, with the southern end of the ground to be named the ‘Pagan end’.

A club and AFL legend, Pagan played 120 games for North Melbourne from 1967 – 1974.

He returned to Arden Street as senior coach in 1993, and went on to coach 240 games, including the club’s 1996 and 1999 premierships, and be named the North Melbourne Team of the Century coach.

“We couldn’t think of someone better to honour 25 years on from our 1999 premiership than the man who helped deliver it, Denis Pagan,” North Melbourne CEO Jennifer Watt said.

“His 10 seasons at the helm are some of the most successful in the club’s history, with the Pagan name forever etched in the history books.

“Now his name will also be on display at Marvel Stadium for all seven of our home games at the venue this season, a reminder of our past premiership success and our aim to be contending for silverware once again.”

The Pagan end will be officially unveiled when the Roos host Fremantle on Saturday afternoon at Marvel Stadium.

The northern end of the ground will continue to be known as the ‘Arden St end’ for Roos’ home games, a concept introduced in 2023.

Pagan will also be celebrated on-ground and at the club’s President’s Function pre-game.
