Defender Aidan Corr will push for selection ahead of North Melbourne's clash with Geelong at Marvel Stadium on Saturday, while Robert Hansen jnr and Jacob Konstanty have been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Corr was withdrawn from North Melbourne's stirring win over the Western Bulldogs at half-time on Thursday night after a back spasm affected his mobility, but has since returned to training.
"Aidan suffered a back spasm after landing from a spoiling contest which shut down his function and mobility," North Melbourne head of performance Kevin White said.
"He has recovered well and he trained today (Tuesday). He will look to train strongly again on Thursday to be available."
The news is tougher for Konstanty and Hansen jnr, who will both miss the remainder of the season.
Hansen jnr will undergo surgical review after scans revealed a wrist injury after he reported ongoing soreness following the club’s VFL match against Footscray on Friday.
"Rob reported soreness and loss of function with his wrist post-game which caused concern from our medical staff," White said.
Konstanty will spend the coming weeks rebuilding his health after a prolonged bout of illness.
"Jacob has been slow with his recovery following his illness," White said.
"We will take the next few weeks to individualise his programming to enable him to get back to baseline with his health in a more graduated manner."
There's better news on the comeback trail for Luke McDonald and Callum Coleman-Jones, who are both building towards fitness tests.
McDonald has ticked off a solid on-field session and group training in recent days, while Coleman-Jones has trended well since returning from illness and is expected to complete the week and be available to play.
Tom Powell, who missed Friday’s reserves clash, remains out of action after a training incident in wet conditions aggravated a pre-existing groin issue.
"Tom had an incident where he slipped in main training in the wet conditions and stretched his hip joint, which has stirred up that troublesome groin," White said.
"This week, he’ll build through the training week to gauge function and confidence on playing again this season."
