North Melbourne Werribee has suffered a 13-point defeat at the hands of a fast-finishing Collingwood on Sunday.
Kicking the only six goals of the second half, the hosts stormed home to secure the victory, consigning the Roos to a 7.4 (46) to 5.3 (33) defeat at Victoria Park.
MAGPIES v KANGAROOS Full match coverage and stats
It truly was a game of two halves, with the Kangaroos' early dominance seeing them open up a game-high 22-point lead at half-time, before the Magpies took control to eventually snatch the lead and win in the final term.
Midfielder Alana Barba tried her heart out in the defeat, finishing with 14 disposals, seven clearances and a goal. Her physicality and finesse around the stoppage was the catalyst for the Roos' first-half dominance, along with her excellent defensive pressure which saw her finish with 13 tackles.
The first blow
The Roos' opener came within the opening 60 seconds of the game, thanks to a superb outside-of-the-boot effort from Tahlia Meier. Coming straight from the centre clearance, Meier showed great composure to straighten up on the run under extreme pressure and set the tone for her afternoon.
The reigning premiers got off to a flying start at Victoria Park!

Tilly time
Returning to the side, Matilda Zander played her best game of the season, picking up 12 disposals and five tackles. Her dash through the middle of the ground was a key part of the Roos' ball movement, and she was able to hit the scoreboard through a composed 30-metre finish on the stroke of half-time.
Did you see that?
An opportunistic goal from Kelsie Ternes helped put the visitors on the front foot early with a goal-of-the-day contender. Pouncing on a difficult bouncing ball inside 50, she used her speed to knock the ball all the way to the goalsquare, before finishing off her work with a brilliant mid-air soccer to kick her side's second.
