Defenders Cooper Harvey and Riley Hardeman are both pressing their claims for season debuts after impressive performances in North Melbourne’s 12-point VFL win over Sydney on Saturday.

Harvey starred at Arden Street Oval, polling six coaches votes after finishing with 37 possessions (15 contested), 14 intercepts, eight marks and five score involvements.

The performance marked Harvey's third consecutive game with 30+ disposals.

Hardeman was also influential across half-back, collecting 26 touches and eight marks in a composed display that saw him go at a disposals efficiency rate of 96 per cent.

First-year Roo Hugo Mikunda also caught the eye, recording 26 disposals and 10 intercepts in a standout performance.

The No. 48 pick in the 2025 AFL Draft produced some strong moments late in the contest to earn five coaches votes and further strengthen his case for an AFL debut.

Midfielder Tom Powell could return from a groin complaint to play his milestone 100th AFL game in Saturday's Sir Doug Nicholls Round clash with Kuwarna (Adelaide).

Powell, who missed the Roos’ Round 9 match against Sydney at Marvel Stadium, will face a fitness test prior to team selection this week.

Bailey Scott continued to stake his claim for a call-up, finding more of the footy against the Swans to finish with 25 disposals, seven inside 50s and seven tackles.

Young forwards Matt Whitlock and Lachy Dovaston both kicked a goal each and were also productive around the park, grabbing 19 and 15 disposals respectively.
