Taylor Garner’s 2020 campaign has been put on hold after he injured his hamstring at training.

The powerful forward left the track early on Tuesday, with scans later revealing he sustained a serious strain.

“We sent Taylor off immediately after he felt soreness in his hamstring. The imaging has revealed a high-grade strain,” North GM Football Brady Rawlings said.

“We will continue to assess things and make a call later in the week as to whether surgical intervention is required.”

Ed Vickers-Willis also left the track prematurely after landing awkwardly in a marking contest.

“Ed suffered a big-toe injury,” Rawlings explained.

“In layman’s terms, it’s called ‘turf toe’ or even more simply put it’s a strained tendon in the toe.

“We will let it settle before we determine the next steps but early indications are that he’ll need one-to-two weeks to let it heal before we start to get some weight loading through it and ramp up his training for games.”
