West Coast v North Melbourne
Patersons Stadium
Sunday September 9, 1.15pm WST/3.15pm EST

West Coast captain Darren Glass is confident fellow key defender Eric Mackenzie will return from a hamstring injury to face North Melbourne.

The 24-year old has played 20 of a possible 22 games in his sixth season for the Eagles and would bolster a defence which looked in trouble at times against Hawthorn in Round 23.

"I think Easy (Mackenzie) would get up regardless of when the game was being played this week and I'm pretty confident he'll be right.

"He’s still got a few more boxes to tick, but I’m pretty confident he’ll get there," Glass told local media.

The captain was wary of the three pronged threat provided by Drew Petrie, Lachlan Hansen and Robbie Tarrant. The trio has combined for close to 100 goals this season despite Hansen playing only 11 games and Tarrant 15.

"They have a very good tall forward line, obviously," Glass said.

"They’ve got great marking power and they put on good defensive pressure, so that’s a very good forward line."

Mackenzie spent time on Petrie in Round 15 at Blundstone Arena and Glass was of the opinion the matchups would be similar in the clubs' third meeting.

"There'll probably be similar matchups again but throughout the game that can change depending on how the game's going. We're not too certain of how it'll play out yet, we haven't really discussed it but I'd imagine it would be similar to the other games."
