Krakouer is the younger brother of famous North Melbourne double act Jim and Phil, and the uncle of Andrew J. Krakouer (Richmond, Collingwood).

On his North Melbourne debut in 1989, the Minang man showed glimpses of his older brothers' flair and brilliance, picking up 15 possessions in two quarters. However he struggled to establish himself in the senior team and went on to play just seven more games for the club.

He booted a goal per game in his short stint at Arden Street.

From one of football's most famous families, he is also uncle to Nathan Krakouer (Port Adelaide, Gold Coast) and Arthur Jones (Western Bulldogs).
