A lively forward, Yorta Yorta man Whyman was rookie-listed by Hawthorn in 2002 but returned to country football after failing to play a senior game for the Hawks.
A strong season for North Ballarat saw him earn a spot on North Melbourne's rookie list in 2006.
After bags of five and four goals at VFL level for the Kangaroos, Whyman was promoted to the senior list. He kicked two goals on debut in 2007 and played two further games in the club's preliminary final campaign, before being delisted at the end of that year.
