A Yolngu man from Arnhem Land, Dhurkkay played 21 games for the Kangaroos across two seasons.
Renowned for his precise kicking, he travelled west to launch his football career with WAFL side East Fremantle in 1994.
He joined Fremantle in its inaugural AFL season in 1995 and played 51 games for the Dockers, before joining North Melbourne in 1999.
He excelled at times for the Kangaroos with his speed and silky skills, before retiring in the middle of the 2000 season to become a leader of his Marngarr community in Arnhem Land.
He died tragically in a car accident in 2005, aged 31.
